What do the "Friends" do?
The Friends of Marshall Public Library are helping to make many wonderful things happen at our library!
This past year we:
- Assisted with the library's information packet grant program by re-stocking supplies around town;
- Funded "Cabin Fever Book Club" prizes;
- Funded programs for all 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders;
- Funded the purchase of vinyl library card holders for patrons;
- Funded the framing of several historic photos for the library walls;
- Continued to work on the library’s Oral History Project;
- Sponsored a Friends members only program by Illinois Tourism Council;
- Funded the framing of several posters for the children's area
- Participated in the Main Street Program’s Adopt-a-Flower-Pot Program;
- Continued to sell used books on the book cart, canvas book bags, note cards, and memberships to help fund library programs and materials purchases.
As you can see, the activities of the Friends of Marshall Public Library are vital to making Marshall Public Library a special part of the community and surrounding area. We hope you will join us in supporting the library by becoming a member today.
You may join simply to support the library monetarily if you wish. However, if you are interested in becoming an active member of our group, please join us for our meetings from 5:00 to 6:00 PM on the first Thursday of July, September, November, January, March, and May. That’s only six meetings per year! Membership dues are just $5.00 for an individual or $10.00 for an entire family. Of course larger donations are always accepted. Stop in the library and pick up an application today!
